How long does it take to create a bespoke suit at Michael Frackowiak?
A complete bespoke suit takes 6-8 weeks from your initial consultation to final delivery. This includes pattern creation (week 1-2), initial construction and hand-tailoring (weeks 2-4), first fitting at week 4, final construction incorporating adjustments (weeks 5-6), and final fitting and delivery at weeks 6-8. For urgent requirements such as weddings or important business events, we offer rush service that can complete your bespoke suit in just 4 weeks without compromising on quality. The extended timeline compared to off-the-rack suits ensures every detail receives proper attention and your suit fits absolutely perfectly
What measurements are taken during a bespoke suit consultation?
We take over 30 precise measurements during your bespoke consultation—far more than the basic chest, waist, and sleeve measurements used for off-the-rack suits. Our measurements include shoulder width and slope, chest at multiple points, waist, seat, arm length and pitch, back length, neck size, jacket length preference, trouser measurements including rise, thigh, knee, and break preference, plus posture characteristics and body asymmetries. These detailed measurements allow us to create a truly unique pattern that accommodates your specific body shape, ensuring your bespoke suit fits perfectly across shoulders, drapes correctly, and moves naturally with your posture. Select your lapel style (notch, peak, or shawl) and width, button configuration and style, pocket types and positions (patch, flap, or jetted), lining colour and fabric, stitching colour and style, plus special details like custom embroidery, monogramming, contrasting collar/cuffs, coloured buttonholes, and unique design elements. What if adjustments are needed after my bespoke suit is completed?
All our bespoke suits include unlimited alterations within the first year after delivery. If any adjustments are needed—whether immediately after delivery or months later due to weight changes, muscle gain, or preference changes—we'll make alterations at no additional charge. Construction involves traditional floating canvas technique, hand-stitching of critical areas including buttonholes and lapel edges, multiple quality checks throughout the process, and final pressing using traditional methods.
